Help me give my students the supplies we need to create our own books. In order to accomplish this goal, we need great mentor texts that are diverse and interesting, writing supplies and blank books.

My Students

Students in our room are kind, curious and excited about learning! They are avid readers, writers, mathematicians and scientists. Students take ownership by sharing their voice and choice in learning opportunities.

Our classroom is a place where joy, risk-taking and community flourish.

Students are engaged in inquiry, collaborative projects, and so much more. We love literacy and being able to share our ideas and stories. Our classroom agreements guide us in all that we do: Be Safe, Be Kind, Work Hard, Have Fun, Grow!

My Project

The kids in Room 212 love literacy. Creating our own books gives us an authentic purpose for doing lots of reading and writing! We will read, research, write, design and our own books.

Reading and writing go hand in hand, this project will inspire us to practice and improve both of these important literacy skills!

We will also be able to share our wonderful stories with our entire school and community!

When our student-made books are finished, we will celebrate with a special "author's tea", inviting our family and friends into our classroom. Readers are Writers and Writers are Readers!
