Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

If a student can't learn the way we are teaching them, then as teachers, we need to teach them in a way they can learn!The Hand2mind Science of Reading toolkits and materials were chosen to improve literacy instruction in my first-grade classroom. These toolkits will equip us with evidence-based resources and materials aligned with the Science of Reading approach, fostering the development of foundational literacy skills among young learners.

Literacy skills are fundamental to academic success and lifelong learning.

The students will be able to encode and decode words as they learn common phonics patterns. Daily exposure to these skills will help the students do successful readers and writers.
