My Students

My students are brilliant individuals who are in constant need of a challenge. Due to the fact that it is a large class, differentiation is a must! From this, I constantly have small group instruction. Unfortunately, my classroom is not equipped with extra seating for these small groups. It is my hope to create a reading nook for them in order that they have a private area to delve into stories or informational texts. Furthermore, I would love to give my intelligent students an “imagination station” where they can be challenged.

My Project

By having seating for small group instruction, transition times will be reduced in order to help the groups to be more effective. With these extra chairs, my students will have more effective small group instruction which will allow me to focus more on content than on transitions. Furthermore, with comfortable cushions for our reading nook, students will have a relaxing designated area to read in. My students are excited to use our newly-made reading nook with comfortable cushions. By adding math books to our library, my class will have more cross-subject instruction by reading about the content we learn in math.
