My Students

My student body reflects the unique diversity of the Hawaiian islands. My students are creative, driven, free thinkers who appreciate the connections they experience in school as much as they appreciate academic learning. My students have formed a tight community, as many of them have been in school together since kindergarten. They love to work, play, and create.

My students are forced to be resourceful, which only nurtures their innovation.

They are true trailblazers and I am proud to know them!

My Project

These books offer rich and fun experiences for middle school students. We have gradually been building up our classroom library this year, and these books will only help us take it to the next level. These books will be used for read alouds, silent reading, homework assignments, partner reading, and many other uses. We have many students interested in manga and graphic novels, which are fun to use to teach about dialogue and plot. These books will diversify and expand our class library, and invite more reading from my adolescent students.
