Help me give my students culturally based texts and Time for Kids, the most up-to-date current events magazine for young readers. We study civics, people who impact history, and personal financial literacy, all of which topics are covered.

My Students

My students are top-notch, kind, young people who really want the best for others. Through our SEL program we study and work to apply problem solving and calming strategies along with resiliency and perseverance. My team is super competitive and never passes on the chance to push themselves and achieve more than expected. We value WE before ME and try to show that each day.

Driven, energized, and ready to learn; we are striving to fill in learning gaps.

Through all that has transpired we are struggling to keep pace and or catch up to missed learning. One objective is to develop higher reasoning.

We come from a working family neighborhood without much support to continue building on our learning at home.

My Project

Having used Time for Kids in years past, I have found that the kids LOVE to read their own magazine! The stories about kids their age, advancements in technology, and world problems spark deep, thoughtful conversations they truly enjoy.

All texts that link us to culture and history, strengthens our skills as thoughtful readers and young people.

My kids can't wait to read and keep a personal collections for themselves. It opens access to topics we don't typically talk about but are so important to appreciate and study through our literacy skills.
