Your funding of the \"Adventure Awaits: New Experiences in PE\" project has fundamentally changed what movement and teamwork look like in our gym.\r\n\r\nYour generosity directly provided us with two incredible resources: Kubb game sets and camping tents. The impact is already visible and thrilling!\r\n\r\nTeamwork and Adventure in the Level Up! Unit:\r\nAs part of our Level Up! with Teamwork unit, we recently completed the \"Tent Set-Up\" challenge with our 5th and 6th-graders. This activity was specifically designed to test their communication, problem-solving, and role distribution skills. The students were completely engaged, using the tents to explore critical teamwork concepts in a new, non-traditional way. They loved the challenge so much that they immediately asked to do it again—but next time, on the grass so they can truly \"pitch\" the tents! \r\nThis excitement shows that this project is already inspiring a curiosity for outdoor skills and lifelong activity, and they are excited for our camping trip planned in the spring!\r\n\r\nGlobal Citizenship with Kubb:\r\nThe Kubb sets have become a core part of our World Games unit (integrating with our World Language/Global Citizenship classes). Students are using the Scandinavian lawn game to explore strategy, cooperation, and the culture of other countries. This experience has expanded their definition of \"sport\" and helped us directly address our year-long PE goal of building stronger teamwork skills across all grade levels.\r\n\r\nYour donation has moved our PE program beyond familiar boundaries, giving our students the chance to practice resilience and collaboration in engaging and novel ways. Thank you for helping us turn curiosity into action.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your belief in our students. We are attaching photos of our students setting up the tents and enjoying the Kubb game so you can see your impact firsthand!","fullyFundedDate":1755885183381,"projectUrl":"project/adventure-awaits-new-experiences-in-pe/9621899/","projectTitle":"Adventure Awaits: New Experiences in Pe!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. MYRIAM","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9299384_orig.jpg?crop=777,777,x0,y69&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695420845033","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9299384"},{"teacherId":1857257,"projectId":8576549,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support in purchasing the iPad and games for my students. These games specifically allow me to easily label and establish a visual way to memorize English syntax.\r\nAdditionally, the iPad is being used by one of our Newcomers whose English Language proficiency is low but has a strong native language. It allows her to take pictures of texts and even assessments to easily translate schoolwork in a simple and quick way to give her access to the content. Furthermore, not only it provides a way for her to develop her English proficiency by constantly translating back and forth, but Google Translate is simple enough to be used by all teachers and students alike, which gives our students the opportunity to interact with each other regardless of their language.","fullyFundedDate":1727462832556,"projectUrl":"project/translation-communication-tools-for-mu/8576549/","projectTitle":"Translation / Communication Tools for Multilingual Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mitchell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1857257_orig.jpg?crop=1058,1058,x564,y1471&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1692984930025","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1857257"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69805","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":390,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.6,"schoolId":69805,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Arrowwood Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Arrowwood Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/douglas-county-school-district-re-1/arrowwood-elementary-school/69805"}
