Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My wonderful students come from the neighborhood around the school and are a delight to teach. We are a Title I school, and the boys and girls represent a diverse population. I love my position as the school librarian and enjoy seeing the classes once per week. I have created Literature Review Buckets for each table. They rotate each week. Students have about 30 different books to read and reviews during library class. We would like to add new books to our Literature Review Buckets. The addition of books about money, spending, and saving will help my students better understand financial related topics.
My Project
In It’s Not Fair! A Book About Having Enough tells of Roxy Ramirez as she saved up for weeks to buy a chemistry set, and now she's headed to the toy store to buy it! There's only one problem: along the way, she keeps running into friends who are in trouble and needs her to dip into her savings to help. Will she have enough money left over to buy something for herself?
Books about spending and saving will help my students learn more about handling money.
The finance books are all differentiated levels to reach all my learners. My students are always interested in money. The addition of these finance books will help my students learn about spending and saving.
