My Project

I want to create a classroom where reading feels less like an assignment and more like an experience.

My goal is to build a cozy, welcoming reading environment where my middle school students can slow down, get comfortable, and simply enjoy a good book.

I want reading for pleasure to become something they look forward to—something they choose for themselves, not just something they do because it is required.

To bring this vision to life, I’m hoping to create a more comfortable and thoughtfully organized reading space with cozy touches that make students want to settle in with a book. I’m also creating a treasure box of small goodies including bookmarks to celebrate students as they reach reading goals and encourage them to keep choosing books, trying new genres, and growing as readers.

I believe that cultivating a love of reading starts with creating an environment that makes students feel like reading is something worth enjoying. Sometimes, all it takes is the right book, a comfortable place to sit, and the feeling that you’re allowed to get lost in a story. Your support will help me create that kind of space for my students—a place where they can read, relax, discover, and fall in love with reading just for the joy of it.
