I work with amazing students every day in a dynamic school, full of established and growing readers hungry for more and more selection. My students come from all over the city of Louisville and from all walks of life. I have readers who had never finished a book before coming to me, and readers who will devour everything I can track down for them. My goal, as the school librarian, is to create a robust and diverse program geared towards meeting the need of EVERY student in my school.
My Project
The books that I have selected for this project will be put into my middle school library collection. They will be available for any of the 600 plus students that I work with on a daily basis to check out and read for projects or for pleasure.
My goal, every day, in the library, is to put books in my students' hands that will nurture a passion and excitement about reading.
To meet this goal, I have chosen a wide range of books that will appeal to, and meet my students where they are in both interest and ability. I welcome your support in putting the right materials into the hands of these middle school students. Together we can create life long readers.
