My Students
5th Graders love to read, when the books stay fresh. The scholars in our classroom are working hard to ensure we meet our full potential as readers. Our classroom library needs a boost.
We are scholars! We love to learn, and we use every moment during our day to learn. 99% of the students at our school qualify for free or reduced lunch. 96% of the students at our school are people of color. Despite the odds, we are working hard to ensure that we are college and career ready. We understand that being college and career ready means that we love to read, both in and out of school.
My Project
We read every day. Staying excited about reading takes books (Code Talker, Princess Academy: Palace of Stone, and The War that Saved My Life! We have already discussed using the library as a resource, but our class has a great desire to access books right in the classroom. As the classroom teacher, I want to provide students to have access to the books all the kids are talking about.
