My Project

I am working to create an organized, inviting classroom library where books are sorted by genre and author, making it easy for students to find stories they love. In a world full of screens and fast-paced media, many students struggle to stay engaged with reading and need support building stamina.

As a Title One classroom, about half of my students are reading below or well below grade level.

They benefit greatly from small-group instruction and access to high-interest, appropriately leveled books. Having well-organized materials will help me maximize instructional time and better meet their needs. We need a new carpet, storage cabinet, a mail organizer, floor cushions and a magnetic whiteboard

My goal is to foster a love of reading by creating a dedicated space where students feel excited to read, build confidence, and grow as readers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
