This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are on a roll. They are reading and reading. Many have read their first chapter book on their own this school year.
It's been a joy to watch students labeled as non readers finally find a book they can't wait to read.
Silent reading time has become a coveted part of our week. Students complain on the days we see unable to fit reading time into the lesson. This is a positive shift in attitude from a few months ago when silent reading time was met with groans and complaints!
