My Project

My students and I love to read picture books both independently and as read-alouds. Oftentimes, we will talk about what the lesson of the book is, noticing how/why the character is changing throughout the book and even our favorite illustrations in the book. Every morning, we spend time together reading one picture book just for the sake of reading a good book. Our classroom library holds a number of picture books, as well, for students to read that either act as a window or mirror. Students are able to experience the world through picture books and are also able to see themselves in the experiences and characters. Diving into a good book is one thing. Diving into a good picture book is a whole other experience!

Mrs. Claeys will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by September 2.
