My Project

This project will provide essential classroom supplies for 130 sixth-grade English Language Arts students. Students are learning how to think deeply about what they are reading and my goal is to build literacy habits that strengthen analytical reading, critical thinking, and effective writing. Students will use multicolor highlighters and Post-it notes for close reading, developing annotation skills by identifying key ideas, text features, organization, evidence, author’s craft, and academic vocabulary. Clipboards will provide flexible workspace, while file folders will help students create learning portfolios, strengthening organization and accountability for their growth.

Students will use the headphones as they read along to the audio books on Fun Fridays.

Markers, pencils, and other supplies will give students the tools they need to participate fully in their dailly learning.
