Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not their primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
As Albert Einstein said, "The only source of knowledge is experience."
It is my goal as an educator to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.
My Project
As an educator, I am always looking to add new and meaningful books to my classroom since our school does not have a library. This is why this project is so meaningful. I know that the best way to make an avid reader is to allow my students to read books that interest them and are relevant. This year I am looking to add new sets of books to our literature circles.
Literature circles will help students develop their understanding of books through shared reading and meaningful discussions with peers.
Collaboration is key to literature circles so that is why I am requesting enough books for a reading group. It is important that each student has the same text to read and discuss.
Thank you for making a difference in my students' lives by believing in the importance of literature circles.
