My students need a variety of books to start class library.

My students from Texas are energetic and have a willingness to learn attitude. They are very enthusiastic and constantly look for ways to think outside the box. These students love to engage with their fellow classmates through talking, hands on activities, or demonstrating what they have learned. I really love their positive attitude and eagerness to learn something new everyday. I teach them they should never stop learning. Also, the majority of them love to read and my goal is to get all of them reading on grade level or beyond by the end of the school year.
They are like my own children.
I teach them in a manner in which I would hope mines was taught. They bring excitement into the classroom which in turn makes me more excited to teach the lessons. At times, the lessons are so engaging, they want to keep on even when we have to move on. I reassure them by letting them know we will revisit the topic the next day. I love their can do attitudes. They are aware the words I can't does not live in my classroom but I can does.
These materials will make a difference because it is a variety of books that were chosen. Some students may not like to read but if they notice there is a book about something they like, they will be eager to grab a book. They will be able to complete book reports about what they read. This will teach them how to improve their handwriting and comprehension levels while reading. They can share their report with their peers as well.
My students get excited about sharing whatever is going on in their life.
Now imagine their enthusiasm when it comes time to tell about a good book. I encourage them to read at least 30 minutes per day. This class library will be a great addition considering they can read in comfort at the reading lounge versus the library. After all, reading is truly fundamental.
