My Students
My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with the majority of my students receiving free lunch, and many in need of things like backpacks, shoes, and uniforms.
Yet, every day these students come to school with a smile, ready to learn.
As a teacher, I try to provide them with all that I can, but I am reaching out for additional support! This is my first year teaching, therefore my classroom library is quite small, and does not meet the needs of my students. I am requesting additional books in hopes that I can expand my students' outlooks and provide them with books in hopes of getting them more interested in reading.
My Project
My students do not have many books at home and because I am a first year teacher we need more of a selection to help meet the needs of my students. I want my students to be able to read books that they cannot afford outside the classroom. I believe having a high selection of books will build a lifelong love of reading. Therefore, I am asking for two classroom collections in hopes of quickly expanding my library and to give students a better selection of reading. In addition, I am asking for high interest books so my students can check out books and read at home as well.
