This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Make these readers, Leaders!!! Put some non-fiction materials into their hot little hands!

My students are learning how to read different types of genres this year.

Many are learning to read for the first time. They are hard workers, and love to explore all the avenues of reading and phonics. My children do not have books in their homes, so they need all the new reading material they can get. Each day they beg to take home the class library books. They need more challenges!

My Project

With the US going towards the Common Core standards, my children will need to have more exposure to non-fiction reading. They currently have none in their reading series. With the Time for Kids they will learn about all kinds of current events that otherwise they would not be exposed. This will help to guide them in becoming more global; with a higher understanding of the world.

Please help put much needed reading materials into the hands of eager, deserving children.

They did not ask to be in a low-income situation that holds them back from needed resources. Be those resources they do not have! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
