Mrs. Joy from Arverne NY is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these materials in order to make the classroom an interactive learning environment. Such materials include, dry erase markers, an easel etc. In addition to basic needs like pencils and paper.

There is so much to love about the students that I work with. Each of the students that I have encountered have taught me something different. Whether its not to sweat the small stuff or actual life lessons. By the end of the school year, my students really knew me from when I was hungry to when I was frustrated. Having this connection made all the difference within my classroom.
Some of the students that I work with at PS/MS 42 are growing up in difficult situations that I could not even imagine bearing myself.
Some are called to be the adults in their family and have to care for their younger siblings because of their parents work schedules. Some come from a single parent home, which makes it even more heart wrenching. I wish that there was more that I could do even beyond the classroom.
It is my hope that by creating this project that I can help my students forget their difficulties while we are together throughout the day. My goal is to make learning more accessible to them and even enjoyable.
The materials listed in this project will go towards helping students who do not have easy access to simple classroom materials. Most students in our area, come to school without many of the basic needs that are put on a supply list. By donating to this project, you will allow a student to not need anything. They will not have a financial burden when they come to school.
It is my goal during this year to make the classroom interactive and enjoyable for my students.
You can help do so by donating to this cause. Not only will you make a difference in the life of a new teacher but in the lives of many students; not only this year but for years to come.
In this project there are various supplies listed. Markers, paper, pencils, an easel, dry erase markers, organizational materials; the list goes on. Each of the items were chosen carefully with the thought of how students will be using them. It is my hope that you will choose to support the value of education that these students shall receive with these materials. We all thank you in advance.
