Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are the "Best High School in the World!" My principal leads by example and has convinced us we are the best because we have a great school! As a school counselor in a low-income/high poverty school, our students are faced with many challenges at home and at school. 90% of our students are on free and reduced lunch.
We are holding a Reach Higher 10 Year Plan Signing Day where we will celebrate ALL students going on for more education or training.
Students and staff will wear their college or military apparel. The Mayor will address the Class of 2017.
Despite the many challenges they face, we continue to encourage them to reach higher for more education or training. Many of them will be the first in their family to go to college. We are seeing staggering numbers of students with the desire to attend a postsecondary institution.
My Project
The 9th-11th graders will get to see our seniors being celebrated for going on for more education or training which will hopefully inspire the 9th-11th graders to Reach Higher. Seniors will participate in a college/military march. They will sign a letter of intent and a poster.
This project will help show the significance of the importance of higher education or training.
The Reach Higher 10 Year Plan Signing day will celebrate the importance of seniors going on for more education or training. Your donation will help support and celebrate ALL students going on for more education or training with certificates and cookies. Seniors will be recognized by our mayor and staff.
