Help me give my students supplies to end the school year and start a new school year. I am moving from 4th to 1st grade. I need to supply materials for each student at my Title I school.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are awesome! They are all things wonderful! They have the potential to achieve greatness! However, their parents don’t have the means to assist as far as supplies. Each supply is used to organize students and create an atmosphere of acceptance, safety, responsibility, and a sense of community.
The chair covers are for students to keep their school supplies organized without leaving them all over the floor.
Many students don’t bring glue sticks, markers, or crayons. The chart paper will be utilized for small group instruction. The expanded pencil pouches are for their supplies and headphones, which will be placed in the chair pouches. The clothes pins will be used to showcase their work. Each student needs their own notebook and headphone set.
Students need to know that they are valued. This is the first key to building relationships and ensuring each kid has the materials they need. These materials are the building blocks to creating a sense of trust and community. When those feelings are built within a child, then teaching a child becomes possible. Please, assist me in building and continuing to build a sense of community and care within the classroom.
