My Students

I teach at a school where my students are challenged in many ways. Many do not have the opportunity to experience anything outside of our town. I want to maintain a fun, safe learning environment and allow them memorable experiences even if they are only in the classroom. I want them to be able to experiment with science and relate it to other curriculum areas.

I want them to look forward to what they are learning weekly in our classroom and to bring that interest home and relay to their parents what they've done in the classroom.

I want them to be excited and to have something to go home and discuss with their parents to bring classroom awareness home. I want to connect my kids to learning experiences that are new and exciting to them and to engage them in hands-on activities. I want them to become lifelong learners!

My Project

Our students need to be able to experience high quality reading material. With the books we are requesting we can provide some of that material. Our schools funding was cut tremendously this school year, therefore we are relying on donations to give our students more access to reading material. We would love for our students to be able to take home books and have book studies with their classmates to have their higher level thinking skills become more defined. If they do not have access to these books, then they are at a disadvantage in their learning. We want them to love to read and make connections to home and life.
