My Students
My students are driven, energetic, enthusiastic and kind people. My school has many low-income families; 80% of the students in my class receive free or reduced price lunch. My class is also made up of 60% ELLs.
They come to school with smiles on their faces and are eager to learn, calling the classroom their home.
I want to be able to make our classroom a place they feel safe and are able to achieve all of their goals academically and personally.
My Project
My classroom is full of voracious readers who are reading at many different levels. Although we have some books in our classroom library, we do not have a very large range of books. That is why I am asking for books and bins to create a leveled library in my classroom.
My students' love to read and are working hard to become fluent, second grade readers.
In order to help us reach our goals, I want to have books organized by level - that are still of high interest - to make book shopping and picking "good fit books" easier for my students.
