My Students
Every morning in my classroom, I start off by greeting each student with a hello! I believe as a teacher it is important to recognize each student by name, giving them a sense of worth in my classroom. I want students to feel valued and cared for!
My students come from many diverse backgrounds.
We have a high population of homeless students. We have a diverse group of scholars who come in at all different levels and abilities. My classroom has twenty-five students in it. The community I work in is a welcoming, warm, and compassionate community.
My Project
Last year our ELL teacher at our school started a writing program that encouraged students to write, write, write. By writing a lot, students expanded their creativity and worked on basic writing skills.
When students write they engage their minds in creativity.
I want to start this same program in my classroom. To do this program I need notebooks to give each student for writing and black pens to use for publishing the writing in their notebooks. We will have incentives and parties for every 100 pages of writing. I want students to enjoy writing and reach for their creativity.
