Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Planning and creating their own research book will energize them into wanting to research and write. They can't wait to get started.
Although my students lack resources from home, they still come to school with great enthusiam for learning.
Our school of almost 900 students is located in a low-income neighborhood in Southern California. Many of these students are gifted students who need the challenge of creating and designing their own work. All of these students are excited and eager to collaborate and create.
With the help of generous donors, this class will be able to excel as they research history. While they work together, they will search for important events that made a difference in the world.
My Project
With the help of a generous donation, my students will have a great way to share what they learn from their research. These blank books will give them a creative way to share in multiple ways what they have learned through their study. Furthermore, students will be able to keep and treasure these books for years to come.
My students will become ravenous researchers as they search, draw, and write what they learn.
Day after day, history will become much more interesting and relevant as they become connected to those events they learn about. Each day, students will study California History in a chronological order. Using their blank books, they will identify and write about the major events that happened in California. Over time, students will witness the changes in this state. What an exciting adventure.
