My students are a wonderful group of eager young minds. They love to listen to stories and have fabulous ideas of stories of their own. They love to read in our classroom library as well as, check out books from the school library.
They all come from different backgrounds, but we come together as a family of learners.
One of their favorite times is pretending they are the teacher with their friends. They even do some of the silly things I do to make my lessons more interesting.
My Project
My students need boxes to house the books they choose from our library to read during independent and buddy reading time. They need notebooks to record the wonderful things they are learning while reading and to support their reading skills. My students will be so excited to use the pointers, glasses, whisper phones and finger lights while reading.
These incentives will be given to the students at just the right time in their learning to enhance the skills they are developing to be better readers.
Finally, my students will benefit from the Snap Words sight word cards as they begin building their sight word bank. Some kids have trouble learning the sight words. These cards help by providing an additional visual stimulation through the picture as well as a kinesthetic stimulation through the movement associated with each word and picture.
