My Students

Different school environments bring different vibes. Something that I admire about our school is that the students love being there. I rarely hear, "I hate school!" or "I don't want to be at school today!" I believe that the teachers in our building do their best to ensure that students have a positive feeling about school and that truly translates into each classroom.

My classroom is full of diverse, inquisitive learners.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but somehow manage to have one thing in common. They LOVE to learn. The smile on my face enlarges each time they beg for more information on a topic, or when they teach me something new.

My students are incredible humans and they inspire me every day.

My Project

Having a wide variety of relevant non-fiction text in my library will help my classroom stay print rich. Students love technology, which is fantastic and important, but I also want them to continue loving to learn through books.

Our world is changing, therefore interests are changing as well.

It is important to me to have texts that are fascinating and up to date for my students to read. Since interests change, my classroom library must change too. When books are captivating to students, they are likely to read more often, which will increase their reading level, vocabulary and overall knowledge. I want more than anything to build strong, interested, independent readers!
