Rapping Up Learning

My students need a fun resource for learning key concepts through music! Flocabulary provides awesome music videos that encourage students to learn concepts in math, reading, writing, social science, and science.

My Students

My students are vibrant and excited learners. They come to school eager to be a part of the classroom community and are excited to learn something new each day. Most of my students come from poverty situations and my school is a Title 1 school. As a classroom teacher, I strive to provide opportunities to meet the needs of all of my diverse learners.

A part of our success is creating a classroom that is inviting and accepting.

All students have a sense of belonging in the classroom and I work tirelessly to ensure that they feel a sense of community.

My Project

This project will provide my students with an online resource that encourages learning through music. Flocabulary is a fun website that creates music videos for students to learn idioms, hyperboles, multiplication, and other fun concepts.

My students love to sing and dance and being able to connect it to learning gives one more way for them to remember the important concepts.

For non-traditional learners, this is an invaluable resource that will allow students to experience learning in a more interactive way. Music helps the brain store more information and will help my students remember what they are learning. Overall, this project will allow students to have fun while learning reading, writing, math, science, and social science.
