Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are energetic, creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects. Coming from an urban community, many students come to school with emotional trauma, special educational needs, and cultural barriers they need to overcome.

The students need skills early on to help them achieve where they want to be as adults.

This will be the first year that we are going to be trying out an honors society for them. They need to see how much we all care for them and want them to succeed. This will help bring staff, students and families together.

My Project

This is going to help us start our brand new, special Rams on a Roll Society. It is going to help our students showcase their respect for everything they do in school.

The Rams on a Roll Society is a brand new organization at Sarah J Rawson STEAM school designed to honor our 5th grade students who act as student leaders and role models within the school.

It will focus on attendance, academics, respect as well as leadership. We want to make sure our students are well rounded and ready for the middle school and beyond when they leave our school.
