We are reaching out with a request for your support for a new and life-changing program being offered to our high school students. We have partnered with Global Health Squads to give our Juniors and Seniors the opportunity to gain valuable skills working alongside local doctors to deliver medical services and public health campaigns in rural under-resourced communities in Panama and are hoping to have your support to make this amazing opportunity more attainable for our students.
In June of 2024, approximately 30 students will travel alongside five Rose Health Sciences faculty members to Panama.
During our medical mission, Global Health Squads, our students, and faculty will work to improve access to health care services in rural and remote communities. Our team will be doing child health screenings, vision stations, dental care, and public health educational workshops to reduce infectious disease. Our students will apply the skills they have already learned in their Health Sciences courses to improve the lives of those they help, while gaining a broader understanding of public health from the global perspective. This life-altering experience is sure to provide valuable experience for our students, and we expect them to return to Greenville with a greater understanding of the needs of our own rural population and how they can make a difference locally and globally.
Our team is fundraising over the next months to help cover the project costs and travel expenses, as well as help purchase the needed supplies and equipment. 100% of your donation will go toward purchasing scrubs for our team to wear while serving in the mobile medical clinic. Your donation would provide a much-appreciated show of support for our local high school students while empowering our students to participate in this important program.
