Help me give my students incentives for demonstrating positive behavior, responsible decision making, and being respectful members of our school community
A positive school culture creates an environment where students feel connected and safe, which in turn allows them to take more academic risks, stay focused, and overall improves academic performance. In PK-2 we are looking to extend our positive incentives to offer tangible toys and prizes as a reward for our youngest students. We are starting a school-store in PreK-2nd grade as part of initiative to promote ready, responsible, and respectful behavior.
Not only will this program reward students' for their positive behavior, it will also build their reasoning, mathematical, and real-world problem solving skills.
Teachers and staff will be recognizing students for exhibiting respectful and responsible behavior choices with Ram Bucks.
Students can then use the Ram bucks at the school store to purchase rewards. In-class teachers will have students count and organize their Ram bucks as well as "shop" in the school-store catalog to plan out their purchases.
The storage containers are the most expensive part of this order but these are necessary to store and secure our incentives. Additionally, the portable cabinet will give us flexibility to travel to classrooms when needed so that instructional time is not lost.
Our goal is to continue to improve our school culture so that students experience a sense of belonging and can be recognized for their efforts, which will in turn impact their academic success.
