Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are struggling with comprehension, fluency, letter sound correspondence, and phonological awareness. We have learned from the Texas Reading Academy that reading skills are built from the ground up with exposure to language and vocabulary as the first foundational skill in becoming a reader.

Our campus vision is to reach every child, in every classroom, every day.

This includes their social emotional needs as well as their academic needs. Providing access to vocabulary-rich books will help our campus achieve this vision. The access will support and enrich our students as developing readers.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
