My students are from low socioeconomic families. Despite the hardships they endure, students come to school eager and excited to learn because they want to be in school. The students deserve to have a classroom where the environment has a wide array of learning opportunities and where they can engage in academics and social emotional development.
I teach at a Title 1 school in California where 100% of the students in my classroom receive free or reduced priced breakfast and lunch.
In my class, I try to include aspects of our Visual and Performing Arts standards for California at least weekly. In order to do this we are in constant need of art materials. This means we are in dire need of quality paint, paper, and modeling clay for our classroom. At this age children need to be creating art to display their feelings, academic ability, and release negative feelings that are built up inside. These materials will be used to create art, gifts, and classroom projects for the rest of the year. Please help support my students and their need for quality art materials.
