This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Thanks to your generous support, the Forest Friday outdoor learning program has thrived for five years. Our youngest learners and their teachers have experienced the joy, wonder, intrigue and health benefits of outdoor learning through play. As we approach the new school year with growing children, we are in need of larger waterproof coveralls, warm socks and rain boots.
In order for students to fully engage and enjoy the wonders of being in the woods through each changing season, they must feel comfortable and dry.
The families we serve are unable to incur the cost and maintenance of the extra apparel needed for Forest Friday programming. As the facilitating teacher, I acknowledge the financial hardship outdoor programs can present for families due to the cost of special supplies. The selected waterproof coveralls, warm socks and rain boots ensure each child is equipped to explore and play in the forest.
