My Students

My school is located in a fairly small, close-knit community. The location has attracted many new families to the area. Our school's diversity is growing, and we are trying to keep up. About 23% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Many have supportive parents at home, but some need extra support from various professionals at school.

My students are still at the age where they love school and love learning new things.

In order to continue to foster a love of learning, our school strives to provide innovative strategies to keep students engaged. Our faculty is eager to help students be successful.

My Project

This year is the first year we are offering the Flight and Space course at my school. The students are SO excited! I would love to be able to provide them with rockets to use during our Space lessons.

Launching rockets will provide my students with an awesome activity to showcase their understanding of Newton's Laws and how they apply to rocket flight.

We have a large field behind our school that would be perfect for this type of activity!

After the last few years, students have come to crave and appreciate hands-on activities. These activities encourage teamwork and collaboration, which has been lacking during COVID.
