This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The budget for badminton is often not the top priority for people who have the tough job of deciding how money should be spent. Competitive badminton rackets are both expensive and somewhat fragile. The amount allocated for our badminton teams is not enough to purchase both uniforms and new rackets.

New rackets are a necessity each year.

Many of our rackets will give several years of service, but each year some need to be replaced. We cannot fit all of our athletes on our courts at the same time. If we had enough rackets so that each student had their own, those students who are not on a court at a given time in practice, would still be able to work on drills for technique. We also believe that students feel more responsible for the rackets when each of them is issued their own.
