Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our running club provides students with the skills and confidence to work as a team, do warm-up exercises, cool down stretches, and do different types of running. Getting students active and educated on the benefits of physical activity will give them the confidence to join a sport as they go on to middle school and high school. There are many studies proving the benefits of physical activity in helping our students succeed academically. It stimulates brain growth, improves focus, and helps them learn.

Our students will be excited and motivated to run races if we set up real race equipment, for example, the start and finish arch will build the anticipation and excitement of the race as well as the speed meter, building the confidence to win!

Our students are participating in our first 5K race that is being held at our school in February to benefit the Heart Foundation for Kids. This opportunity is a great way for students to also give back to the community and learn empathy towards others.
