My students need to experience this hands-on-workshop to get excited about math and introduce them to elementary physics and have an experience they may not ever have.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you know what it feels like to want to go somewhere you've only heard about and know it will never happen because your parents couldn't afford it?
My students are amazing multicultural 4th graders.
Our school is 95% low-income with most of our students receiving free lunch and almost 50% English Language Learners. I have students from all different cultural backgrounds who speak many different languages.
My Project
Many of my students rarely get the opportunity to leave their neighborhood, let alone the city. This would be a wonderful experience for my students to get out of their every day routine and attend a place they will most likely never attend. On an average day, the admission to Legoland is $22/person. Most of my students cannot afford to take their entire families to Legoland, it is simply too expensive. This will also be a fantastic opportunity for my students to experience a hands on math and science project to further their understanding of elementary physics and being able to relate concrete events to mathematics. I truly believe this will be an experience so many of them will never forget.
By donating any amount, you will be helping provide the experience of a life time for my students.
Not only will they experience a fun, hands-on math and science workshop, but they will also have an experience that many of them will probably never have.
