My students are all from Worcester, MA. 90% of the students in my classroom are minorities. Each student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and many are English Language Learners. The majority of my students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Some of these students are on track to be the first person in their family to receive a high school diploma.
The classroom provides them with a safe learning environment with predictable structure, expectations, rules, and consequences.
The students spend their education time working to overcome their learning difficulties. Many are working to attend a 2 or 4-year college or trade school after graduation.
My Project
Funding this project would enable my students to be successful in their Math and Science classes. Using Chromebooks will help them better understand and visualize their lessons by using online tools to help re-teach lessons and conduct research.
My students struggle each day in the regular classroom environment.
Access to technology will help them to become more successful students.
Having Chromebooks will also allow them to work on budgeting projects in their History classes, planning for their collegiate future by applying for financial aid, accessing resources to reinforce math lessons learned in class. In the past, students have been able to access visuals of geometry lessons to see how shapes rotate which helped them to identify coordinate points. They will also be able to gather and analyze data.
