Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a public elementary school, in a self-contained special education setting, primarily for students on the Autism spectrum. Currently, I share this setting with 3 other classrooms. We strive to give our students the best possible education we can.

My students enjoy using technology items, I am looking to increase our inventory with a full subscription to Quizzizz.

I absolutely love my students and being a part of their progress is extremely fulfilling.

My Project

Quizizz uses a trivia inspired activity to work together and solve examples. There's a leaderboard displayed that can motivate each group to work together and get the most points. Students love playing games and learning through play. While we are all adjusting to this new way of learning remotely, learning through play will benefit the child in all of us.

Quizizz is a website dedicated to making learning fun, engaging, and interactive through games and excitement.

Even my most reluctant learners love using both sites. For many of them it breaks up the monotony of their dry online hybrid and virtual lessons adding some fun and excitement to their lessons. I am requesting memberships to both sites so I can unlock features that will allow me to create more in depth meaningful online instruction in a way that has already been proven to work with my students. The use of these sites will enhance my students' classroom experience with built in functions that will allow me to immediately check for understanding, give students the opportunity to communicate with their peers, and ensure participation and collaboration.
