While many of us use technology at home for quick tasks or entertainment, here in the library, your support is helping us turn \"once upon a time\" into \"how does this work?\" By blending children's literature with hands-on STEAM activities, we are helping students move from being passive readers to active creators. When we pick up a favorite book, the students aren't just discussing the plot—they are using coding and engineering to solve the characters' problems, building a much deeper connection to the stories they love.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part of this new technology is seeing the students' ideas move off the page and into the physical world. After reading a story, students might code a small robot to navigate a map of the book's setting or use digital tools to design a new invention for a character. It has turned the library into a vibrant hub of discovery where children are excited to experiment, fail, and try again. They aren't just learning to use a device; they are learning the logic of coding and the persistence of engineering, all through the lens of imagination.\r\n\r\nWe are seeing wonderful breakthroughs with students who sometimes find traditional schoolwork a bit daunting. Our students who are still building their English vocabulary have flourished here; because coding and building are so visual and hands-on, they can show us their brilliant problem-solving skills without needing the \"perfect\" words right away. Similarly, our neurodivergent learners have truly warmed to this environment. The predictable logic of coding and the tactile nature of our STEAM projects offer them a sense of control and focus that helps their confidence soar.
