As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my 2nd grade students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
From the second they walk in to the classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me.
I may not be able to control what happens in their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experiences and learning during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
Students will use the headphones to work quietly and without distraction to complete tasks and learning on the classroom computers and tablets. They can control the volume while they use their programs, use headphones to block out other noises, and continue to practice skills without distraction caused by other students and classroom activities.
This will enhance the learning environment in the classroom.
The addition of technology would give my students a much-needed boost to work on their independent learning skills. Students who are confident in their listening and speaking abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education and the workplace.
