My Students

I have 13 boys in my class and they are very active, like most 6 and 7 year old boys are. Trying to find a variety of ways to present information that will truly engage my first graders is often a challenge. They are visual and auditory learners. They really enjoy using technology, and I try to incorporate this into my lessons as often as possible. We currently have access to 6 iPads and 6 chrome books in our classroom. This technology is wonderful and I have found the students really enjoy practicing reading or doing math activities on these devices.

Both boys and girls need ways to engage in their learning at their own level.

My students live in Riverton, Utah and are excited to come to school each day.

My Project

Have you ever tried to watch a video while someone else is talking? Or watching another video? It's incredibly distracting, and first graders are already easily distracted. These headphones from Lakeshore will help my 1st graders be able to focus on books being read, lessons being taught through video interactions, math activities and practice on their chrome books or iPads. These headphones are much needed in a classroom of 6 and 7 year olds. I can just imagine the quiet with all my students working on their own lessons and reading books on their iPads, with their headphones on! They will be able to control the volume themselves and learn at their own rate. Sounds heavenly!
