Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

Due to the pandemic, my students and I are now being forced to return to the classroom.

My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households. Every child in our school receives free breakfast, free lunch, ​and a snack before they go home.

From the minute they would walk into my classroom, I focused on my students' potential and growth while they were with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day, especially now that we are all forced to wear a face mask throughout the day.

My Project

The headphones could be used at school as well as at home. Staying focused is difficult enough, but adding unnecessary noise can truly keep child off task. If our children each have a good quality headphone they have a better chance of staying focused.

Also, a high quality projector in our classroom will assist in numerous fashions.

We can work on our classroom assignments and project in the classroom for all to see easily. We can project YouTube videos to help understand Math concepts, Reading stories, Science and history curriculum and experiments.
