My 5th graders are highly active students who need opportunities to calm down throughout the day. Having options for flexible seating and opportunities to use fidget toys will allow them to focus on their studies.
Being a student nowadays is difficult, having calming manipulatives around the classroom will give them lifelong self-care strategies.
The chance to utilize a bounce, cantilever chair will allow my students to remain calm and focus in class. We have a few in our room already--and parents and student love it! Having a few more chairs will allow more students to use them throughout the day.
When I'm given a chance to use a fidget, I immediately notice my stress levels relax. Allowing my students to use fidgets in class, when necessary, will give them yet another calming strategy. The less anxious my students are, the better prepared they are to learn.
