Quiet Atmosphere to Focus Better

My Students

My students have had a rough couple of years. In 3rd grade their teacher quit halfway through the year, so they they had to adjust to a new teacher. In 4th grade they had a teacher who was new to the profession and had a hard time figuring things out. In 5th grade they had a teacher who did not teach them the standards - add that to Covid, and they are struggling to catch up. With all of this adversity stacked against them, they are trying their hardest to make this year a good year and to catch up to where they need to be. They are great students who are trying their best. We are always trying to figure out new, interesting ways to learn and stay focused.

My Project

The group of students that I currently teach struggle with staying focused and not getting distracted. The students will use the headphones after whole group instruction, while working individually on their assignments.Because of Covid, they are pretty far behind in school.

Our classroom can get really loud.

I am hoping that if I can get these headphones for every student that they will be able to concentrate on their work and not get distracted or become the distraction for other students. It is my hope that it quiets the atmosphere of the classroom and improves the learning.
