Help me give my students an activity that can help them reduce stress during the quarantine season. They would love to spend time coloring in a cool book with their own set of colored pencils!
I have amazing students who work really hard even though they all face some type of disability.
They face difficulties in the areas of cognitive delays, autism, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.
We live in a rural area that has a high rate of poverty which limits the number of opportunities these students are able to access.
I love that they show up to school with positive attitudes and try their best at every task given. Each student has a remarkable life story and would truly benefit from opportunities outside of the typical academic tasks.
My Project
Each of my students will be sent a stylish coloring book and their own set of twelve colored pencils. They will have multiple opportunities to use their creativity rather than spending time watching movies or Youtube.
Many of my students are experiencing stress due to COVID-19.
A new coloring book and a set of pencils will allow them to get lost for a while in their artwork.
The students will receive their books and pencils as a gift along with their school lunches and paper assignments. We have weekly Google meetings where they will be able to share their artwork.
