My Students
I am so lucky to teach an amazing group of first graders.
They are a very talented, funny, and energetic bunch of 5 and 6-year-olds.
They make my job so enjoyable!
I teach in a suburb of Detroit. We have approximately 53% of our entire student body who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is a "Leader in Me" school, which helps to develop students who are empowered to be leaders. In my classroom, I work to build an environment that encourages students to love and support each other. We build on each other's strengths to develop confidence in each other.
My Project
Our current situation has made it difficult for many of my families. I want to ensure my students have activities and games to do at home besides their online learning. There are games to be played as a family, craft projects to be completed, math manipulatives to use and lots of fun blowing bubbles outside. I want my students to have the chance to really be children during this crazy time in our lives. This will be a year they will never forget and I want to add to the excitement!
