Some of the books are new authors and some are sequels to books in a series that we already had. One of the new authors that the 5th graders are particularly enjoying right now is Kayla Miller. Today is our first day, in this school year, for students to borrow books and I had several requests to help them find titles by Miller. These titles will be a great next step for those who love Raina Telgemeier.\r\n\r\nAnother new series that has been very popular is \"Max Meow\" by John Gallagher. These books are graphic novels about a cat hero who saves the day. Both of those topics are quite exciting for our upper elementary students. Another new series that I expect to fly off the shelves is \"The Last Comics on Earth\" by Max Brallier and Joshua Pruett.\r\n\r\nThe most popular ones today were the latest copies of \"Sonic the Hedgehog\" and the \"I Survived\" graphic novels.
