My Students

My students are part of a richly diverse school located in the heart of the city of Greensboro. Thus, we are English learners and this project will teach us new words that are meaningful, colorful and lovely. As a school community, each day we work hard to support the individual needs of ALL our students. Our students speak a splendid variety of languages and they come from over 20 different countries. We educate kindergarteners through 5th graders, and we also have a phenomenal Pre-K program.

My Project

Science funds dried up many years ago and now classrooms are void of materials. Under my care, these rock and mineral specimens will serve many students throughout the years.

I am inspiring young minds to become inquisitive and experience the beauty and splendor of our natural world.

Picture and books are a great way to learn, but the real things are always more inspiring. Getting their 6 year old hands on nature is extremely engaging. These rocks and minerals will stimulate the brain and permanently embed the experience in their minds.

Good students must be educated in reading and math, but science makes them well rounded and a better citizen.
